A Bit More About Me

Nearly 20 years ago, I traded the Netherlands for Serbia. Armed with an archaeology degree from the University of Leiden and a love for adventure I got on the plane. What followed was a complete reset: new country, new culture, new career… and a language that felt completely unfamiliar.Let’s be honest—learning Serbian wasn’t easy. It shared nothing with the languages I already knew. But with persistence (and a good ear for languages), I gradually found my voice. In a place where I couldn’t rely on English or Dutch, I learned the only way forward: adapt, listen, and keep going.At the same time, I built a strong corporate career in customer success and business operations, with a focus on data analytics. Over the years, I had the privilege of leading incredible teams and working with inspiring people—experiences I value just as much as any professional milestone.Still, one thing never left me: the urge to write.
You’ve probably heard the saying: “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
Cliché? Maybe. True? Absolutely.
I’ve always loved working but combining that drive with something close to my heart, now that’s a different level of fulfillment. So, I started writing. First here and there, then more seriously: content, blogs, articles - online and offline. I also leaned into my language skills, translating everything from website backends and business materials to fiction. And somewhere deep in my heart, there’s still that dream of writing a book.Today, with years of experience in both writing and translation, I bring together creativity, precision, and strategy in everything I do.
